You have decided to visit the historical Thai capital and now you are looking for the best hotel accommodation in Sukhothai. This post will guide you through the three hotels at which I have stayed in Sukhothai and I will rank them according to where I would stay for my next visit to Sukhothai.
Ranked Third of Three … Baan Suk Sukhothai …
Set in quiet gardens and away from the busy road that runs through Sukhothai, Baan Suk Sukhothai is my third favorite hotel at which I have stayed in Sukhothai. Not quite as impressive as the other two hotels below, Baan Suk Sukhothai is a family-run hotel that has only about 10 rooms. The resort is certainly not as big as the other hotels in the area. All rooms are set in the lovely relaxing gardens and have a good view of the large swimming pool. What the hotel lacks in size is made up by the quality of the accommodation, pool and garden, as well as the front office staff.
Unfortunately, there is not an onsite restaurant at the hotel so I was left to my own devices in the evening. However, for breakfast, in the reception area, you have a basic selection of Thai and Western dishes and the coffee is acceptable also.

Just 2.4 kilometers from the Sukhothai Historical Park, the hotel is ideally located close to the main reason that you would have come to the area. The room was perfectly comfortable, and, being in an isolated location, allowed for a perfect night’s sleep.

Ranked Two of Three … Legendha Sukhothai Hotel …
Set alongside the Mae Rampan Canal, Legendha Sukhothai Hotel is designed to reflect the traditional Thai style, incorporating local architecture and cultural elements. Just 1.6 kms from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Sukhothai Historical Park, the hotel aims to create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for its guests. The rooms are located around the large and relaxing swimming pool. What you could do is sit on the porch and enjoy your evening sundowner, enjoying the serenity of the swimming pool and the tropical plants. Otherwise, The Legendha Sukhothai offers many opportunities for cultural immersion, allowing guests to learn more about the history and traditions of Sukhothai.
You will be hungry after your day exploring the historical park. The hotel has an on-site restaurant, called Namkang Restaurant, offering a selection of local and international dishes. The restaurant is situated on the banks of the Mae Rampan Canal. Here you can enjoy your dinner, with an elevated view, while relaxing alongside the canal. I enjoyed breakfast in the same restaurant the following morning.

Overall, Legendha Sukhothai Hotel serves as a charming and convenient option for travelers interested in exploring the historical richness of Sukhothai while enjoying comfortable accommodation with a good restaurant at which to eat.

And Now, Ranked One of Three … Sriwilai Sukhothai Resort & Spa
Just 2.1 kms from the Sukhothai Historical Park, Sriwilai Sukhothai Resort & Spa is set in quiet gardens, with beautiful views of Wat Chedi Sung, and a stunning view over the pool and into the rice fields. The hotel offers the perfect chance to relax after a long day exploring the various sites for which you came to Sukhothai, including Wat Si Chum and Wat Chang Lom.
With three choices of room type at Sriwilai, you are spoiled for choice as to which room you would like to choose. Whatever room type you select, you will enjoy a good night’s sleep, surrounded by rice fields and close to the large and inviting pool.
The breakfast restaurant is close to the reception area, in lovely grounds overlooking Wat Chedi Sung. With the egg selection outside with a good array of Thai food, you will first venture inside for your morning cappuccino.
Consider visiting the onsite spa, called Soila Spa. Although we did not visit the spa, its location in the quiet gardens makes me believe that we missed out on a relaxing spa experience, steps away from the rooms. Other than spending the day at the pool, a visit to Soila Spa will ensure that your vacation in Sukhothai is as relaxing as it should be.

Despite a few challenges that could easily be addressed, that would take the hotel from good to great, I was pleased to discover Sriwilai Sukhothai Resort & Spa and it would be my Number 1 choice, of the three hotels at which I have stayed, when I am next in Sukhothai. I hope that you will do the same.
