The Legian Hotel, Bali – A Romantic Dinner Alongside the Sea

We had dinner at the Legian Hotel in Bali on 4 September 2017. Of the seven restaurants that we visited in Bali we ranked this number three. We thought that we had confirmed the reservation before arriving in Bali but this was obviously not the case, so we made a reservation on the day, a few hours before dinner. That meant we could not select a table outside, close to the pool and overlooking the beautiful ocean. Instead, we were given a table inside the restaurant, almost as nice as the ones outside.

We arrived early, having made the reservation for 7PM. We first wandered around the hotel, taking photographs and videos. We then enjoyed evening cocktails while watching the sunset before heading inside for dinner. The location of the hotel and restaurant is wonderful – right alongside the beach on the west coast of Bali, allowing wonderful views of the sunset as you watch the waves crashing onto the beach.

For starters we enjoyed the Crab Cake with Ginger Flower Beurre Blanc and Citrus Herb Salad and the Roasted Bangkal Hitam Pork Belly with Grilled Courgette and Pickles, both excellent choices.  For the main course we selected the Bangkal Hitam Organic Pork Loin with Cauliflower Caramel and Mixed Radish, and the Barramundi with Wild Shrimp, Pernod, Pumpkin, Lemon and Sea Beans. I have no idea what some of these ingredients are but as a combination they were pretty good.

The shared dessert was the Manjari Chocolate Fondant with Vanilla Ice-Cream, Raspberry and Blueberry.

All in all a wonderful dinner at the Legian Hotel in Bali.  The staff are attentive, the food is excellent and the location is hard to beat. As mentioned earlier, we ranked this restaurant number 3 of the 7 restaurants that we visited in Bali.
