Welcome to Paro, and the beautiful Le Méridien Paro Riverfront. I stayed at the Le Méridien Paro Riverfront Hotel for the nights of 14 and 15 May 2016. The hotel is lovely and new, welcoming their first guests in October 2015 apparently. I was fortunate to be upgraded to a corner suite room (Room 0114). The room is large and comfortable. The hotel is nice, if somewhat far from the center of town – depends on what you want I suppose.
The food is really good. While I was there I was one of the few non-vegetarian eaters staying in the hotel. Unfortunately, as a result, the selection of food (breakfast) was limited to vegetarian food mainly, though the option for non-vegetarian was available too by request.
The hotel is situated nicely in the Paro Valley alongside a lovely quiet river, excellent for relaxing after a day of monastery visits.
For a nice quite stay you will really enjoy the hotel. There is a good spa, which I tried once. The indoor pool, which I did not try, is a nice addition too. During my time in Paro I also stayed for four nights in the Uma by Como Paro (for the nights of 26 to 29 May 2016). Given that neither of them are particularly close to town, it really all depends on what you are after. If you are looking for a nice quiet spot to relax and chill, I would recommend the Le Méridien Paro Riverfront. If you are looking for great views over the Paro Valley and a nice quiet hotel on the hill, then the Uma by Como in Paro would be your better choice.
All in all I enjoyed my stay at Le Méridien Paro Riverfront and would definitely return should I visit Paro again.
