One of the highlights is when the boat anchors in a calm bay alongside a quiet island. Guests are free to jump into the clear waters for a refreshing swim or borrow one of the onboard kayaks and take a paddle around the boat. The Gulf here is reasonably calm and inviting, making it enjoyable for both beginners and seasoned swimmers. I wanted to try ‘walking the plank’, which I did, followed by a relaxing glass of wine while getting to know fellow travelers.
Back on deck, it was time for dinner while anchored in the bay. A selection of delicious Thai dishes with fresh fruit will restock the energy levels before you settle for a chilled beer or evening glass of wine. Sipping a cold drink while gazing out at the turquoise sea really drives home the ‘holiday mode’ feeling. The added bonus of watching the sun dip below the horizon is a truly magical way to end the day.
Before long it will be time to head back to the port, but not before exchanging contact details with new friends and promising to stay in touch for perhaps another dinner cruise around beautiful Hua Hin.
