Heading just 2.6km from the lovely Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort in search of a place for dinner, one quickly comes across the ‘See the Sea’ restaurant on the shores of the Andaman Sea. Likely to be one of the nicest locations in Krabi, yet also likely to be one of the better priced restaurants in the area, you are spoiled for choice as to what you may want to have for dinner.
A simple restaurant with an extensive menu, See the Sea makes no pretense about being anything more than a lovely seaside restaurant serving a good selection of food at reasonable prices. With basic furniture, in a simple setting just off the beach, you are left to admire the location as much as the simplicity of the setting and the lack of tourists that you find at other restaurants closer to the center of Krabi.
On the evening that we visited, it had been raining for most of the day and we were the only customers when we arrived, later to be joined by a local family who seemed to dine there often. Starting off we ordered a selection of drinks, ranging from mango shakes to the traditional Singha beer that you have to have when you are in Thailand. Dinner was, for me, a lovely Thai green curry. Others enjoyed the Pad Thai and a selection of other dishes from the extensive menu.
All in all a quiet evening at a simple restaurant, right alongside the beautiful Andaman Sea. What I recommend you do is arrive early, enjoy the sunset with some drinks at the beach and then head to the restaurant for a charming and inexpensive dinner.
